Inspired by a ladies cape
Helping a friend with sorting clothes my eyes caught the fabric of this cape and how I could use it.
First I tried to make a lampshade. I took a paper and fold it around an existing lampshade and so there was a pattern. Placing the pattern on the fabric I cut it out with a hem and then handstitched it.
A few years ago I made this picture out of little pieces of wrappingpaper en wallpaper, the frame I used was not the right color but there was no other one, but the tartan from the cape fitted exactly. First I removed the picture , made from little pieces of wrappingpaper and wallpaper in a patchwork pattern ,and the glass. Then placed the tartan on the frame and cut the inside a littlebit smaller then fold it back and glued it with the hotglue gun, wich I also did with the outside. And done was the job. When I put the glass and picture back it looked perfect.
The tartan was also great for a pillow with on the other side the exteriorfabric of the cape.
On a blog I found a pinecone made from fabric and with the tartan it looks great. I always like it that colours and material come back in a room to make it one.
From the exteriorfabric, wich is a beautiful wool, of the cape I made this leaf. I sewed the leaf on the paper with 3 vintage buttons. Now it can be used as a postcard.
